A family-owned barbecue operation plans to move to Wichita Falls within the next few weeks.
Owner Shane Bivins said Monday he will open Firehawk Smokehouse in the former location of Mazzio’s restaurant at 3209 Call Field Road.
Bivins said Firehawk will offer brisket, ribs, ham, turkey, sausage, bologna, pulled pork and jalapeño cheese sausage, along with drinks and sides.
He said burgers will also be a mainstay, and he has applied for a beer license.
“We’re going to do an all-you-can eat buffet on Sunday, and we’re going to have a salad bar every day like Mazzio’s did,” he said.
Bivins said the business will be a family-operated restaurant run by him, his wife, son and brother.
He said Firehawk Smokehouse has operated in Olney for about two years, but he’s packing up the business and bringing it to Wichita Falls.
“I’ve been in the barbecue business since 1993,” he said.
Mazzio’s closed in August 2025 after being in business for 20 years. A sign on the door said the restaurant closed because its lease expired.
