The Texas Longhorns’ offensive line had a reason to celebrate on Sunday when Connor Robertson revealed his plans for the 2026 campaign. The veteran lineman announced that he will return to the Forty Acres for his final season. While his college career has been full of ups and downs, Robertson is a valuable depth piece.
After arriving on campus as a three-star recruit, Robertson appeared in seven games as a true freshman. During that season, he served as a backup to Jake Majors, getting 124 snaps. He had the same role as a sophomore, then became Cole Huston’s backup this past season.
When Huston missed time due to injury, the Longhorns turned to Robertson. The former three-star recruit made the most of his opportunities, helping stabilize an offensive line that had struggled. His surge was due to all the work he had put in since arriving in Austin.
With Roberton officially back in the fold, the Longhorns have one less position to worry about. They can also count on Trevor Goosby, who will be returning for the 2026 campaign rather than entering the NFL Draft. Having two veteran pieces protecting Arch Manning will be important for a Longhorns team chasing a national title.
Regardless of what other roster changes are made, Robertson has proved he can hold his own in the SEC. Now his focus will be on building on his success and making the most of his final collegiate season.
