If a player has declared for the NBA Draft, they have until next Wednesday to withdraw and go back to school. Any hope of former Longhorns wing Dailyn Swain would follow that path are gone. A new ESPN NBA Draft mock draft projects the Texas Ex as a first round pick.
Swain’s position in the draft seemed a little iffy when the former Xavier transfer declared for the NBA Draft. Some experts wondered if he’d get drafted at all. There was speculation he could be a second round pick.
Swain got an invite to the NBA Combine, but he didn’t fare particularly well, struggling on the first day of scrimmages and opting not to participate in the second day. While many scouts love his slashing ability, others are concerned about his shooring.
Still, the 6-foot-6 Ohio native is projected to be picked in the first round with the No. 26 pick by the Denver Nuggets in the mock draft. Swain would be an athletic perimeter player that would help compliment former MVP Nikola Jokic.
The 2026 NBA Daft is Tuesday, June 23 (Round 1) and Wednesday, June 24 (Round 2).
