A Skechers shoe store is coming to Wichita Falls.
Broker Andy Lee said the company signed a 10 year lease on a portion of a building at 3127 Lawrence Road. The property is owned by Gary Mehan of GM Properties.
Lee said the store will occupy 10,960 feet in the north half of the building and Mehan will do modifications on another 10,000 square feet on the south portion of the building.
Lee said the Skechers is scheduled to open in June 2026.
Skechers was founded in 1992, is headquartered in Manhattan Beach, California, and has 5,300 stores worldwide, according to its website. It is the third largest footwear brand in the world by sales.
Mehan said the current occupant, Overstock Furniture and Mattress, is in the process of closing business at the location.
The building has been home to a couple of furniture stores and was once the site of Powerhouse Gym. It began as a moving company warehouse years before Lawrence Road was a major retail corridor.
Mehan said he will soon put an addition onto the building to house another major retailer that intends to open.
He declined to reveal who the retailer is, citing a nondisclosure clause.
