Campus USA Credit Union has surpassed $4 billion in assets, a milestone the Gainesville-based financial institution says reflects continued growth and member confidence across its service area.
The credit union announced the achievement in a press release this week, noting that it now serves more than 180,000 members throughout Florida. Campus officials said the growth underscores the organization’s ability to continue investing in financial products, services and community initiatives.
“Surpassing $4 billion in assets is a testament to the strength of our membership and the relationships we’ve built over the years,” Campus USA CEO Jerry Benton said in the press release. “While we’re proud to celebrate this milestone, we’re even more excited about what lies ahead. We are honored by the trust our members place in us and remain committed to making a positive impact in every community we serve.”
According to the credit union, the milestone comes after more than 90 years of service. Chartered in 1935, Campus USA, which started in Gainesville, has expanded from its North Central Florida roots to serve members across 25 counties.
Officials said the credit union’s growth has been driven by a range of financial services, including mortgage lending, consumer banking, business services and educational support programs.
“Every dollar entrusted to Campus USA Credit Union tells a story of member confidence,” the organization said in its announcement, adding that the achievement reflects longstanding relationships with members and a commitment to supporting employees and local communities.
Campus USA said surpassing the $4 billion mark will help strengthen its ability to invest in new financial solutions while maintaining member-focused services.
Membership is open to anyone who lives, works or attends school in Alachua, Citrus, Clay, Columbia, Duval, Gadsden, Gilchrist, Hernando, Hillsborough, Jefferson, Lake, Leon, Levy, Madison, Marion, Nassau, Orange, Pasco, Polk, Seminole, Sumter, Suwannee, Taylor and Wakulla counties.
