Local high school football coaches are game planning against a similar opponent this week.
Mother Nature.
With some weather forecasters projecting as high as a 98% chance of thunderstorms on Friday, Oct. 24, several high school football games in the Wichita Falls area have been moved to Thursday, Oct. 23.
Here is the list of confirmed games that have made that switch:
Lubbock-Cooper at Memorial, 6 p.m.
Legacy at Abilene Cooper, 6 p.m.
Brock at Burkburnett, 6 p.m.
Graham at Mineral Wells, 7 p.m.
Vernon at Bowie, 7 p.m.
Boyd at Iowa Park, 7 p.m.
Jacksboro at Henrietta, 7 p.m.
City View at Holliday, 7 p.m.
Olney at Anson, 7 p.m.
Tom Bean at Nocona, 7 p.m.
Munday at Petrolia, 7:30 p.m.
Northside at Newcastle, 7:30 p.m.
Knox City at Bryson, 7:30 p.m.
Guthrie at Crowell, 7:30 p.m.
Forestburg at Gold-Burg, 7:30 p.m.
There is potential more games will join this list, and it will be updated as that information is confirmed on www.timesrecordnews.com.
There is more pressure and urgency to have these games played since each one is a district matchup and will decide playoff seeding. The forecast for Oct. 23 does present its own challenges, however, with chances of thunderstorms listed at 61 percent, according to weather.com.
