Micah Parsons scrubs Cowboys from social media, team listed as 'TBD'

The acrimonious contract feud between Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys has taken yet another dramatic turn, and it seems that the parties are perhaps further apart than ever, with less than two weeks to go before the start of the regular season.

As of Friday morning, Parsons has removed all mentions of the Cowboys from his social media account bios. His profile picture has been replaced with a Bible verse (“Even if I fall, I will rise; the Lord is my light,” from- not coincidentally- the Book of Micah). And in place of the Cowboys, he has cryptically listed his current team as “TBD.”

On TikTok, the 26-year-old posted a series of images that appear to show him blowing a kiss and waving goodbye. The soundtrack to that post? This Allen Iverson soundbite:

“Imma win wherever I go. Wherever I go, Imma win. I don’t care where I go. I don’t give a damn what team I go to, Imma win. Imma win regardless; it don’t matter. It don’t matter. … You talk about making your teammates better; Imma make ’em better. Wherever I go, Imma win. … Just like they named me the MVP; that’s what I am, that’s what I always felt like I was. I been in this league for six years; I feel like I was the MVP for six years.”

Parsons, of course, started the 2025 offseason early, having a personal chat with owner Jerry Jones and even saying publicly that he didn’t necessarily need to be the highest-paid defensive player in the league when it came to a contract extension.

Things then stalled and have only gotten more contentious, with Parsons present but not participating in training camp and even requesting a trade from the Cowboys. For his part, Jones has been unwilling to engage Parsons’s agent in talks since he believes he and Parsons already had an agreement in place.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer has said he is optimistic that Parsons will be on the field versus Philadelphia in the team’s season opener on Sept. 4.

Jones has dug in his heels this week, appearing on numerous outlets to emphasize that Parsons is contractually obligated to the team, even without an extension.

A record-breaking new extension for Parsons that puts him on the field in Week 1 in a Cowboys uniform was once seen as a slam-dunk, even if it dragged out all summer and dominated the headlines in typical fashion.

With every passing day, though, it is starting to feel more and more uncertain.
