Texas women’s basketball is trying for its first title game in almost 40 season while South Carolina is looking to extend a dynasty.
The Final Four has arrived and the Texas Longhorns will play the South Carolina Gamecocks for the fourth time this season. After those two play, UConn and UCLA meet in the other national semifinal.
Texas beat No. 16 William & Mary and No. 8 Illinois in the first two rounds before beating Tennessee 67-59 in the Sweet 16 and TCU 58-47 in the Elite Eight to get to its fourth overall Final Four against the Gamecocks.
South Carolina took down Tennessee Tech 104-48, then beat two Big Ten teams Indiana (64-53) and Maryland (71-67) before dispatching Duke, 54-50.

Texas opened as a 2½-point favorite over the Gamecocks. But the line shifted to the Longhorns being 5½-point dogs, as of Friday afternoon.
The Longhorns are 1-2 against the Gamecocks this season. South Carolina won 67-50 in Columbia on Jan. 12, but Texas earned a 66-62 victory in Austin on Feb. 9. Texas lost in the SEC tournament title game to the Gamecocks.
South Carolina has played in seven Final Fours and won three national championships in 2017, 2022 and 2024.
