Man dies in Dec. 25 motorcycle crash in Nueces County

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a motorcycle crash that killed a man early on Christmas Day in Nueces County.

Jesse Acuna Jr., a 23-year-old Kingsville resident, was riding his 2025 CFMOTO 450 SS motorcycle east on Farm-to-Market Road 665 at about 8:36 a.m. at a high rate of speed, according to a news release from the department.

Due to a combination of heavy fog and excessive speed, the rider failed to negotiate a curve on County Road 67 at Petronila and struck a metal pole, according to the department.

The force of the impact threw him from the motorcycle.

Acuna was pronounced deceased at Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital after being taken there for treatment.

Troopers in the Highway Patrol Office in Corpus Christi are investigating the crash.

The department did not immediately respond to a request for comments on Dec. 29 about the vehicle’s rate of speed or additional details of the investigation.
