Lubbock D4 City Council candidate Stephanie Ferran launches campaign

Stephanie Ferran, a Lubbock small business owner, life coach and mother of four, officially announced her candidacy for the District 4 City Council seat in the upcoming June special election.

Ferran’s announcement in front of a gathering of supporters Wednesday in Citizens Tower came after she filed earlier this spring as one of five candidates to run in the June 27 special election for the south-and-central Lubbock council seat.

Ferran, a Lubbock native, said her campaign is built on a deep commitment to neighborhood representation.

“I am running to ensure our community has a dedicated, practical voice advocating for the families and local businesses that make Lubbock thrive,” she said.

As a local life coach, small business owner, and community volunteer, Ferran said she has spent years helping individuals achieve their potential and is now stepping up to bring that same dedication, community advocacy, and leadership to the Lubbock City Council.

Why is Lubbock hosting a special election for District 4?

Current District 4 Councilman Brayden Rose announced in early March that he had turned in his letter of resignation to the council and mayor, citing family reasons as to why he was resigning.

Rose’s resignation leaves around two years left in his term that needs to be filled through a special election. Therefore, the City of Lubbock ordered a special election to be held in June to fill Rose’s vacancy on the city council.
