KFOX14 Morning News Traffic Reporter Diana Gomez bid good-bye to viewers on Friday, Sept. 19. Gomez had been with the station for seven years.
“Today has been extremely emotional, it’s my last day at KFOX14,” she posted on her Facebook account. “I started at the station more than seven years ago as a production assistant, and never imagined how much I would grow and where this journey would take me.”
Gomez said she was appreciative of the opportunity to connect with the El Paso community via her role as a multimedia journalist and traffic reporter even if that involved getting up at 2 a.m.
“I’m grateful for you, our amazing viewers, for welcoming me into your homes each day. Your support has meant the world to me,” she said. “I can’t thank our morning team/work family enough for the fun adventures. Waking up at 2 a.m. isn’t easy, but knowing my day would start and end with such an incredible group of people always made it a great one.”
Gomez didn’t say what she will be doing next but did say she won’t be waking up so early.
“While I’m not ready to share specifics just yet, I’m really excited for what’s ahead and grateful for all the support I’ve received from viewers, colleagues, family, and friends along the way,” she told the El Paso Times.
Gomez added El Pasoans can still get traffic reports from her on her Facebook, Instagram and X.
