Interstate 10 near Downtown El Paso remains closed hours after a crash, causing potential delays for morning commuters.
As of 5:15 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, TxDOT traffic cameras showed eastbound traffic being diverted off I-10 at Executive Center Boulevard. By 6 a.m., traffic appeared to be backing up in the area, according to the cameras.
The closure follows a crash involving a pedestrian and a vehicle that occurred around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, in the eastbound lanes of I-10 near Porfirio Diaz Street, just west of Downtown El Paso, police spokeswoman Detective Judy Oviedo said in a media message.
TxDOT El Paso said the roadway’s estimated clearing time remains “until further notice.”
