The Coastal Bend will have 13 entrants into next month’s UIL State Tennis Tournament in San Antonio, including four Region IV champions.
Flour Bluff’s Victoria Torres won the Region IV-5A girls singles draw with a 6-2, 6-3 win against Allison Crane of Alamo Heights.
Veterans Memorial mixed doubles tandem Lachlan Prouatt and Reyna Xiao also captured Region IV-5A with a straight sets win against a team from Liberty HIll.
In an all-London High School regional final, Parker Gabro held of teammate Cub Quintero in the Region IV-3A boys singles draw 4-6, 6-1, 6-3.
London’s Austin Box and Ryan Martin teamed two claim gold in the boys doubles draw in Region IV-3A.
Anyone finishing in the top three at regionals advances to the the UIL State Tennis Tournament scheduled for May 7-8 at multiple sites in San Antonio.
