Here's how San Angelo is celebrating Pride Month in 2025

June 1 marked the beginning of LGBTQ+ Pride Month in San Angelo.

Pride Month is celebrated across the country by LGBTQ+ Americans in honor of the Stonewall Riots, which occurred June 28, 1969, and galvanized calls for equal rights and marches across the nation.

Open Arms Advocacy Center, an LGBTQ+ resource center for San Angelo’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning and/or queer community, is hosting events throughout the month.

“This year, our theme is Born to be Me — a celebration of authenticity, resilience, and joy,” Open Arms said on Facebook. “Pride is more than a month, it’s a powerful reminder that who you are is enough, just as you are.”

Here’s a look at the events commemorating Pride Month in San Angelo:

LGBTQ+ Movie Night

On June 23, there will be an 18+ showing of “But I’m a Cheerleader” at San Angelo Performing Arts Center Blackbox in partnership with Angelo Civic Theatre. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and the show will start at 7:30 p.m. Entry is by donation for this event.

Youth Pride Party

On June 25, the Youth Pride Party will be at 113 N. Harrison St.

“This is a safe, supportive space for young people ages 12–18 to be themselves, connect, and feel seen,” the Facebook page stated. The party will be from 6-7:30 p.m.

Pride in the Park

On June 26, Pride in the Park is 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Kirby Park, 1401 Edmund Blvd. There will be LGBTQ+ resources, local vendors, crafts, music, story time by Anastasia at Nite, at 7 p.m. and more.

Gaga Mania: Pride Bingo

On June 27, Pride Bingo will be at The House of FiFi DuBois, 123 Chadbourne St. This event is a fundraiser for Open Arms. Nyx At Nite, local drag icon, will be the host with performances from Spicy, Dani Lynn, Valencia, Cecilia, Phoenix and Tatum.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m. for ages 18 and older.

Admission is $5 and bingo and raffle tickets are $1 each.

These table packages including the table and bingo cards but NOT admission are available:

• Two guests / four cards — $15

• Four guests / eight cards — $30

• Six guests / 12 cards — $55

• Eight guests / 16 cards — $80
