It was less than two weeks ago that hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of football fans were shocked when they weren’t able to tune into the Cowboys-Cardinals game. Ahead of the Week 9 matchup, two corporate media giants made the sports world suffer when Google, owner of Youtube TV, and Disney, owner of ESPN, were unable to work out an agreement.
Youtube TV removed all of Disney’s properties from their service, a service that millions of football fans had gravitated to over the last few years after they reserved the cash-printing Sunday NFL Ticket package from the league. Suddenly, ESPN — host of Monday Night Football — was gone and there was no slate of CFB games on Saturdays nor NFL live Monday actions. The impasse lasted through Week 10’s Eagles-Packers tilt, but it has finally come to an end, with the two sides reaching an agreement on Friday.
