Former Texans RB Dare Ogunbowale signs with Raiders on new deal

Former Houston Texans running back Dare Ogunbowale finally has a new home.

According to the Las Vegas Raiders’ transaction sheet, Ogunbowale is headed to the Silver and Black for the upcoming season. As a late signee, this will mark the first time since 2022 that the Wisconsin product won’t be featured with the Texans for the start of the regular season.

Last year, as the No. 4 option, Ogunbowale played in all 17 games, mostly seeing action on both offense and special teams. He finished the year with 11 carries for 25 yards and one touchdown, as well as 10 receptions for 76 yards (7.6 avg.).

On special teams, Ogunbowale recorded 16 total tackles and one fumble recovery, the second most special teams tackles on the team.

Over his 10-year career, Ogunbowale has collected 177 carries for 594 yards and five touchdowns, along with 109 receptions for 850 yards (7.8 avg.) and two touchdowns. On special teams, he’s totaled 22 kickoff returns for 424 yards (19.3 avg.), 60 special teams tackles, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

His 60 special teams tackles since 2018 rank tied for 14th in the NFL over that span.The Texans will face off against the Raiders next Thursday in the first preseason game.
