Former Lubbock Heart Hospital founder announces own practice, Optimum Health

One of Lubbock Heart Hospital’s co-founders recently came out of retirement to open his own practice.

Dr. Joseph Rizzo spent more than 30 years in the cardiology industry, part of which included being on the board of LHH’s founding physicians, according to a news release. Shortly after retiring, a medical event placed him in the Intensive Care Unit for weeks. This medical episode led him to return to the industry by opening Optimum Health, 5252 114th St.
