El Paso could hit its first 100-degree day soon. Here's when

Sun City is about to live up to its name as triple-digit heat is expected to arrive in the coming days.

Clouds and rain chances are expected to clear out as sunshine returns to the forecast, sending temperatures soaring starting this weekend. El Paso is expected to hit 100 degrees on Sunday, June 7, though if the temperature falls short, the National Weather Service says the triple digit mark should arrive by Monday or Tuesday, June 8-9.

If El Paso reaches triple digit, its first 100-degree temperature will be early this year — the average start date for triple digits in the Sun City is June 12, according to the National Weather Service.
