Did Texas Tech women's basketball fall in national rankings after OSU loss?

The Texas Tech women’s basketball team took a slide in national rankings after a 1-1 week that ended with a road loss at Oklahoma State.

The Lady Raiders held off Kansas 70-65 at home Feb. 10 then fell 75-65 against the Cowgirls on Saturday. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Tech, its longest since starting the season 19-0.

The results dropped the Lady Raiders to No. 20 in the USA TODAY coaches poll, which came out Tuesday. Wednesday’s opponent, Baylor, checked in at No. 14. TCU is the highest-ranked Big 12 squad at No. 11, followed by No. 19 West Virginia. Iowa State dropped out of the rankings but received votes.

After reaching its highest ranking of the season, Tech fell four spots to No. 20 in the Associated Press poll. TCU is No. 12, followed by No. 15 Baylor and No. 19 WVU in the Big 12. ISU received votes.

The Lady Raiders (23-4, 10-4) sit in fourth place in the Big 12, a half-game behind WVU and a half-game ahead of OSU, entering Wednesday. Tech is one game behind frontrunning TCU and Baylor.

The top four seeds receive byes into the quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament, which begins March 4.
