Two longstanding El Paso traditions – Las Artistas art show and Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros – will take place this weekend.

The Las Artistas will have its spring show this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, April 25-26, at the International Museum of Art. The free, two-day event will feature 36 participating artists and showcase a wide range of original artwork and fine crafts by local creators.

The El Paso Public Libraries and Parks and Recreation Department invite the community to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros, a joyful tribute to children, books, and the magic of reading, Saturday, April 25, at Pavo Real Park, 9301 Alameda Ave. More than 80 nonprofit organizations will be on site with engaging activities and resources.

Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros

The 30th anniversary of Día de los Niños, Día de los Libros, a celebration of children and books, will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25, at Pavo Real Park, 9301 Alameda Ave.

The celebration begins with a parade at 9 a.m., traveling along Alameda and Candelaria and ending at Pavo Real Park. Local El Paso author Sergio Troncoso will serve as Grand Marshal, leading City leaders, community groups, and more than 20 local organizations.

The highlight of the day is the giveaway of more than 16,000 free books to children, helping spark a lifelong love of reading.

Sofi Tukker at Elmont

Get ready, El Paso; Sofi Tukker is bringing the party to The Elmont on Friday, April 24. Don’t miss the globally known duo behind hits like Best Friend, Purple Hat and Drinkee live under the stars for one unforgettable night.

General admission tickets are $62.66 and are still available for purchase.

Las Artistas spring show

Las Artistas will present its 2026 Spring Show from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 25, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at the International Museum of Art, 1211 Montana Ave.

Guests are invited to explore the curated free show, enjoy live music throughout the weekend, sample offerings from local food vendors and experience the welcoming atmosphere of one of El Paso’s most distinctive cultural landmarks.

Shipley Donuts plans grand opening Saturday

Shipley Donuts, a Houston-based donut franchise, will have its grand opening beginning at 5 a.m. Saturday, April 25, at 1710 N. Zaragoza Road, Suite 106, in the Zaraplex shopping center. This will be the franchise’s first El Paso store.

The first 100 guests will receive free donuts for a year via the Shipley app. The festivities will continue at 7 a.m., giving late risers a chance to join the fun, with an exclusive tote giveaway, and from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

War Eagles Air Museum hosts Flying Legends of Victory Tour

The War Eagles Air Museum is hosting the Flying Legends of Victory Tour, featuring WWII aircraft rides and ground tours aboard the B-17 and B-25, Thursday through Sunday, April 23–26.

The War Eagles Museum is at 8012 Airport Road, Santa Teresa, N.M.

These are not static displays. They are fully operational aircraft, flown to keep history alive.Visitors will walk through the narrow fuselage, sit where crews once sat, and stand inches fromthe machines that shaped history. For those who choose to fly, this becomes access to history inmotion, reserved for a select few.

White Sands trading post show

The Hubbell Trading Post Roadshow brings the spirit and artistry of the Southwest to White Sands National Park this weekend, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience traditional craftsmanship and cultural heritage in an interactive, family-friendly setting.

The traveling event will feature live demonstrations by skilled artists and artisans, showcasing techniques passed down through generations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, April 25–26, at White Sands National Park, 19955 Hwy 70 W. Alamogordo, N.M. Free.

Take a tour of Mesilla

Taylor-Mesilla Historic Site will host hour-long plaza walking tours on various Fridays and Saturdays through May 23. Join Ranger Daniel or Docent Tom in the Reynolds Store Visitor Center, 2350 Calle Principal, Mesilla, where the tour will be from 10-11 a.m. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $5 for children 16 years and younger, and must be reserved online in advance at https://my.nmculture.org/events?kid=38.
