These are the Section V Athletes of the Week for April 13-19 presented by Faber Builders.
Girls Athlete of the Week
Ajaya “AJ” Orr received over 12000 votes. The Aquinas senior finished with 3 touchdown passes, 2 touchdown runs, an interception for a touchdown and a punt return for a touchdown during two wins for the school’s flag football team.
Boys Athlete of the Week
Owen Kearney received over 8,000 votes. The Honeoye Falls-Lima baseball player pitched a complete game (seven innings), a shutout with 12 strikeouts and two hits and had six hits in nine at-bats during the week.
During the winter season, the polls launched on Mondays at democratandchronicle.com to determine the Athlete of the Week from the previous week’s top performances. Your vote determined who was honored as Section V’s best.
The poll was live until 8 p.m. Wednesday. The winner was announced first on our Instagram page, found at instagram.com/dandcsports.
