The Corpus Christi Police Department has made an arrest in relation to the April 15 shooting on Weber Road that killed a teenager.
Jusiah Ortiz, 22, was arrested on a warrant for murder after being apprehended at 11 p.m. April 21 by the Corpus Christi Gang Unit and U.S. Marshal Service near the intersection of Columbia Street and Bloomington Street, according to an online post by the police department.
The department said the investigation is still ongoing.
According to previous Caller-Times reporting, police were dispatched to Weber Road and Tripoli Drive just before 8 p.m. on April 15 and found a 17-year-old victim with a single gunshot wound. The teen was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
As of noon April 22, Ortiz’s case was in pre-file status, with formal charges not yet filed.
