After winning her third consecutive UIL Class 4A state championship in May, Calallen junior Jordyn Thibodeaux added to her high school softball résumé by being named Player of the Year on the Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 4A All-State Softball Team.
Thibodeaux shared the honors with Robinson’s Jimmy Eby, who helped lead her team to the Class 4A Division II state championship.
Voting was conducted by TSWA members based on nominations from coaches and media members from around the state.
Thibodeaux, who is committed to McNeese State, went 18-6 with four saves in the circle, finishing with a 1.02 earned run average, 268 strikeouts and 43 walks in 144 innings pitched.
In addition to Thibodeaux, five other Calallen softball players were named to the team.
Earning first-team honors were state championship and District 31-4A MVP Braelyn Bailey, followed by Kylee Butcher, Brookelynn Meador and Kayden Trevino.
Junior Audryna Almaraz earned honorable mention at catcher.
