The state released report cards for three San Angelo-area school districts, with one earning a B rating and the others earning Cs.
The Texas Education Agency, on Friday, Aug. 14, released its 2026 A-F Accountability Ratings, handing out As, Bs, Cs, Ds and Fs that tell parents, educators and lawmakers which schools are excelling and which have work to do.
Here’s how the three largest San Angelo school districts and their high schools fared in their 2025-2026 academic accountability ratings.
What are the TEA accountability ratings?
The new TEA A-F rating, which considers many factors, boils down to three “domains.”
Seventy percent of the score comes from the highest score of the following:
The other 30% comes from Closing the Gap, or how different student groups are performing.
San Angelo ISD sees improvement but remains at a C rating
Total enrollment: 12,500 students.
2025-26 overall rating: C (76/100).
2024-25 overall rating: C (73/100).

Wall ISD fell from an A rating to a B
Total enrollment: 1,306 students.
2025-26 overall rating: B (89/100).
2024-25 overall rating: A (93/100).

Grape Creek ISD remains at a C rating
Total enrollment: 1,192 students.
2025-26 overall rating: C (78/100).
