Organizers of the Amigo Airsho are aiming for an improved guest-friendly aviation event this year, including a reduction in ticket prices.
The Amigo Airsho is set for Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 18-19, at the Biggs Army Airfield. Ticket prices are $37.79, including fees, available at www.amigoairsho.com. A better deal is a four-ticket bundle for $130.12, including fees — free entry for kids 12 and under. Ticket prices will go up at the gate.
Despite some first-year hiccups, organizers of the Amigo Airsho said 61,000 people attended last year’s two-day event. It was the first year after a 12-year hiatus, and it was a popular annual event. General admission tickets were about $10 more last year.
This year, the tickets include access to new free refill water stations. Last year, the Amigo Airsho frustrated some attendees on the first day when they were prohibited from bringing their own water and had to wait more than two hours to purchase beverages.
Amigo Airsho adds water stations for 2025
“This year, MSSG Amigo Airsho introduced a new water policy modeled after MountainStar Sports Group’s standards – guests may bring one sealed water bottle or an empty reusable (non-glass) bottle to refill at stations throughout the event,” states an Amigo Airsho release.
Vianey Esparza, director of marketing, said there will be a Thirst Aid tent at the entrance, thanks to two community leaders, WestStar and The Hospitals of Providence. Every attendee will receive a complimentary water bottle at the entrance. There will also be water refilling stations throughout the grounds.
“WestStar is proud to be a part of this Borderplex tradition and to serve as a Thirst Aid sponsor in partnership with The Hospitals of Providence, helping to keep Amigo Airsho attendees refreshed and hydrated this year,” said L. Frederick Francis, Executive Chairman of WestStar in a press release.
There also will be beverage vendors that sell water, as well as food vendors that also offer water bottles for sale.
Amigo Airsho to transport visitors within grounds
To enhance the guest experience, Airsho organizers will introduce a fleet of vehicles that will transport attendees across the event grounds, starting at the entrance.
Moreover, additional shade tents will be placed near the entrance to provide some reprieve from the sun for attendees.
“The Amigo Airsho is all about our community, and we’re committed to creating an experience that’s fun, accessible, and unforgettable for everyone,” said Alan Russell, MSSG Amigo Airsho Chairman.
Air Show headliners will be F-16 Viper Demo Team
Wondering who the showstoppers will be this year? Here it is:
The F-16C Fighting Falcon Demo will show its aircraft’s impressive maneuverability and multi-role capabilities, showcasing its advanced avionics, all-weather performance, and combat effectiveness.
Another featured headliner will be the Patriots Jet Team, the largest civilian-owned aerobatic jet team in the Western Hemisphere, featuring pilots who were formerly part of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels.
