The Abilene police department is investigating an apparent murder-suicide that occurred outside the Vybz nightclub, early Sunday morning, said an Abilene Police Department media release.
At around 2 a.m. on Sunday, May 3rd, police were called to the nightclub in response to a shooting, the APD said. When police arrived, they found 25-year-old Ariana Herrera deceased in her vehicle in the parking lot of the nightclub.
In addition, 26-year-old Jalavion Beaver was found a short distance from Herrera’s car, deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, said the police in the media release.
Police said Beaver and Herrera were estranged boyfriend and girlfriend, and information at the scene indicates they had argued in the parking lot before the shooting occurred.
Beaver is suspected of shooting Herrera, who was in her vehicle before Beaver shot himself, police said.
This investigation is ongoing, police said.
