Texas A&M’s 2026 offseason began just hours after the Aggies’ disappointing 10-3 home loss to Miami in the first round of the College Football Playoff, leading now third-year head coach Mike Elko and his staff to pursue a talent list of transfer portal players, needing to replenish a roster that would lose 20-plus players to the portal and the 2026 NFL Draft.
In just a matter of weeks, the Aggies landed 17 portal additions, led by former Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Horton and Tennessee transfer cornerback Rickey Gibson, who are both considered immediate impact starters this fall. Another critical addition includes Northwestern transfer edge Anto Saka and former Colorado safety Tawfiq Byard, who look like perfect fits in Mike Elko and new defensive coordinator Lyle Hemphill.
On Wednesday, 247Sports released its final transfer portal rankings heading into the summer months, placing an official stamp on the spring season, and after the annual Maroon & White Game on April 18, Texas A&M is widely considered a top 10 team, while CBS Sports placed the Aggies No. 5 in its post-spring SEC power rankings.
An impressive six of the Aggies’ 17 transfer additions were included in 247Sports’ final rankings, led by Rickey Gibson at No. 28 and Isaiah Horton at No. 33. Here is the complete list of new Texas A&M players in the rankings:
Five of the six players listed have been widely predicted to start, while Tawfiq Byard will likely start in certain packages and rotate in with senior safeties Dalton Brooks and Marcus Ratcliffe.
