As Longhorns football stays busy on the recruiting front, it received an encouraging update from Caleb Siler on Tuesday. The three-star recruit locked in his official visit to the Forty Acres from June 19th to the 21st. That will give head coach Steve Sarkisian a chance to show Siler what his future in Austin could hold.
Currently, the three-star recruit is ranked as the 75th-best offensive lineman in the 2027 class by 247Sports. They also rank the Gunter High star as the 122nd best player from Texas. Due to his play, Siler has received offers from some of the best programs in the nation, such as Florida State, UCLA, Baylor, Texas Tech, and TCU.
While the Longhorns will get to make their best pitch in person, it is not the only program Siler is scheduled to see. He also has visits set with Northwestern, TCU, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Texas Tech. That is not an easy list of schools to go to battle with, as they all had various degrees of success.
If Siler were ti commit to Texas, he would be part of a talented 2027 class. The Longhorns have already secured commitments from four-star recruits such as Easton Royal, Cameron Hall, Brock Williams, Derwin Field, and Darwin James. They will be joined by three-star recruits Noah Roberts, JT Geraci, Cade Huag, and Ty Knutson. That group is currently ranked 18th in the nation by 247Sports.
When it comes to developing offensive linemen, Sarkisian and his staff have had a lot of success over the years. That could be a major appeal to Siler as he weighs his best options. Regardless of what happens leading up to his visit, Texas will do everything it can to land a commitment from Siler, a player with high upside.
