2026 Texas A&M RHP commit reopens his recruitment

Texas A&M baseball has undergone significant change since the end of the 2024 season, from a revamped coaching staff to a clear shift in developmental philosophy. Those transitions may also signal a different approach on the recruiting trail and on Saturday, one of the Aggies’ high‑school commits became the latest ripple effect.

Right‑handed pitcher Graeson Register, a senior and one of the more projectable arms in A&M’s 2025 class, announced on social media that he is reopening his recruitment. Register did not provide a specific reason for the decision, but his post offered a hint at the circumstances:

“Due to moves made that I cannot control, my recruitment is now open”

The wording suggests this may have been less about Register wanting to decommit and more about Texas A&M shifting direction under its new staff. While the exact cause remains unknown and Register did not elaborate, the timing aligns with the Aggies’ ongoing overhaul on the mound. With a new pitching coach in place, A&M may be recalibrating its priorities, potentially leaning more heavily on the transfer portal for proven, college‑ready arms.

Register remains a talented prospect with considerable upside, and his departure opens the door for another program to land a high‑ceiling right‑hander. For now, both sides appear to be moving forward on separate paths.

We wish Register the best as he searches for his next opportunity. His full announcement can be viewed below via X.
