Sheriff's office ID's woman killed, man arrested after apparent stabbing in Lubbock County

Lubbock County officials have identified a 50-year-old woman who died and have arrested a suspect following an apparent stabbing early Wednesday at a home near Shallowater.

Sheriff’s deputies responded about 7:40 a.m. Wednesday to a 911 call from a distressed individual at a home in the 6600 block of North County Road 1630, according to a Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Responding deputies arrived to find 50-year-old Erin Neudorf suffering injuries that appeared to be stab wounds, the release stated.

Deputies gave first-aid until medics arrived. However, the woman died at the scene.

One person at the scene was detained the release states. He was later identified as 29-year-old Nickolas Deleon. He was booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center, charged with murder.

The Lubbock Metropolitan Special Crimes unit is investigating, while a cause of death is being determined by the Lubbock County Medical Examiner’s office.

Other information about the circumstances of the killing or what may have prompted the violence was not immediately clear. However, officials described it as an isolated incident.

“Deputies have no reason to believe an ongoing threat exists,” the release states.
