ZANESVILLE – Multiple vehicles were reportedly broken into at Bishop Rosecrans High School around Feb. 6, the Zanesville Police Department Detective Phil Michel told the Times Recorder.
Several days later, a theft investigation into the matter resulted in a strong police response, including ZPD’s impregnable armored truck, to execute a search warrant Feb. 11 at a Fountain Square residence near the North Seventh Street intersection.
One male suspect was taken into custody, Michel said.
During the investigation, authorities learned the suspect and the stolen items were on Fountain Square. Recovered evidence was determined to be from the break-ins.
While the armored truck was on site, the SWAT team was not used, Michel shared. The search warrant, in this case, was executed by detectives and patrol officers.
The truck, however, can be handy since it has equipment and gear that might become necessary during searches, especially when’s it difficult to predict how they’ll go. That’s why it was at the scene, Michel added.
