Zanesville man dies in storms after struck by tree

ZANESVILLE – A Zanesville man has died after thunderstorms blew across Muskingum County Aug. 16.

Kieler Roush, 20, was pronounced dead at a police scene near Ridge Avenue and West Main Street around 2:12 p.m. He was reportedly struck by a tree that was toppled during the storm’s high winds and found by police under the debris, said the Zanesville Police Department in an announcement Aug. 17.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that Roush had been hit by the tree, the ZPD noted.

Community Ambulance and the Zanesville Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
