Holy Family Parish School in Stow is planning to keep its opening day and calendar of events on schedule after an electrical fire Aug. 17, the school announced on social media.
The damage was contained to one wall in a second-floor classroom, the Rev. Michael McCandless said in a Facebook video Aug. 18.
McCandless said he, the principal and some staff were there at 1 p.m. when the fire alarm went off at the Kent Road school. Staff were evacuated and no injuries were reported.
Classes are set to start Aug. 26.
Fire departments from Kent, Hudson, Munroe Falls, Valley Fire District and Akron provided support, as did Stow police.
