Xavier continues to add through the transfer portal as Miami Hurricanes guard Tru Washington is the latest to commit to the Musketeers, according to several reports.
Washington was a four-star recruit out of Compass Prep High School in Arizona when he committed to Richard Pitino’s New Mexico Lobos.
In two seasons with New Mexico, Washington averaged 8.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.6 assists per game. Last season at Miami, he averaged a career-high 11.9 points to help lead the Hurricanes to a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
After adding Texas A&M sharpshooter Rubén Dominguez on Friday, April 10, Xavier has added Washington, who immediately elevates a defense that struggled mightily last season.
Washington ranked fourth in the ACC in steals last season and had a top 60 steal percentage in the country, according to KenPom. Washington was third in the ACC’s Sixth Man of the Year voting.
