The most accurate passer in college football last season will not be among the players selected in the 2026 NFL Draft.
In his first season as a starter for Ohio State, redshirt freshman quarterback Julian Sayin turned heads with his deep passes. He finished with 3,610 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and eight interceptions. Sayin also led the FBS with a 77% completion percentage and led the Big Ten with 301 completions.
Sayin set a career high in passing yards with 393 and four passing touchdowns in the Buckeyes 34-0 shutout against Wisconsin. He also finished fourth in Heisman Trophy voting and was the Shaun Alexander national freshman of the year award.
Is Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin eligible for the 2026 NFL Draft?
No, Sayin was not eligible to declare for the NFL draft in 2026.
According to the NFL football operations website, players must have been out of high school for at least three years and must have used up their college eligibility before the start of the next college football season to become draft eligible.
Sayin is two years removed from high school, making him ineligible to declare in 2026.
When is Ohio State QB Julian Sayin eligible for NFL draft?
Sayin is eligible to declare for the NFL draft after the 2026 season, when he will be three years removed from high school.
If he chooses to declare for the 2027 NFL Draft, Sayin would join a talented list of quarterbacks who are draft eligible after next college football season, including Oregon’s Dante Moore and Texas’ Arch Manning.
