New renderings for the law and medical schools slated for construction in downtown Covington were released March 24, showing a modern building with large glass windows.
Chicago-based company Pepper Construction and Cincinnati-based MSA Design were selected as the design-builder for the Commonwealth Center for Biomedical Excellence, Kenton County said in a news release March 24.
The $125 million project is expected to break ground this year.

The project brings Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law and the University of Kentucky College of Medicine-Northern Kentucky Campus to a single building near the riverfront.
“Pepper and MSA brought a clear vision for how to execute this project at the highest level possible,” Christine Russell, executive director of the Northern Kentucky Port Authority, said in a news release.
The design-build team also includes SLAM, THP Limited, Heapy, The Kleingers Group and Design 27.
The project moves the law and medical schools from NKU in Highland Heights to a 1.89-acre site at 22 E. Rivercenter Blvd.
