Wayne County issues a level 1 snow emergency

WOOSTER — The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has issued a level 1 snow emergency of the morning of Jan. 25.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine declared a state of emergency Jan. 24 to help the state prepare for the storm.

The National Weather Service forecast is calling for:

Today: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 19. East wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow, mainly before 9pm. Low around 8. Wind chill values as low as -3. North wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Monday: A chance of snow before 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 14. Wind chill values as low as -7. West wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New snow accumulation of
