Ohio State received a massive commitment on the defensive line on Saturday when four-star defensive tackle Karlos May announced his pledge to the Buckeyes. Out of Alabama, May adds to quite the haul on the defensive line for head coach Ryan Day and defensive line coach Larry Johnson.
We like to not only bring you Ohio State football recruiting news but also follow up with what you can expect from the new commitments. In this case, we have highlights of May during his junior season at Ramsay High School in Birmingham, Alabama, for you to take a look at. It’s always hard to really forecast how a prep player will translate to the next level because of the uptick in competition, size, and speed, but there are a few things that stand out when watching May do his work that you’ll see below.
It’s clear by watching the film of May that he’s got great size and power, and is able to take on blocks and shed them to make tackles. His speed in pursuit also looks to be more than above average when he needs to track down the ball carrier. He should fit in well in Columbus in the future, and we can’t wait to see how he develops.
