UC Bearcats schedule change moves Bahamas debut to Tuesday, Aug. 4

The Cincinnati Bearcats men’s basketball exhibitions in The Bahamas will be delayed a few days due to travel delays, according to event organizer Brooks Downing.

Downing runs bdG Sports, which puts together the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League. UC is part of an event featuring international play and also involving Arkansas, Louisville, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Valparaiso.

UC was scheduled for a six-day visit at the Baha Mar Rest in Nassau, Bahamas Aug. 1-6. Their international games were set for Sunday, Aug. 2 and Tuesday, Aug. 4, with both games against Canadian teams.

Cincinnati Bearcats game time changes for Bahamas exhibitions

The Bearcats will now have their first August exhibition Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 2:30 p.m. (Eastern) against Victoria. They will follow up with a game against Calgary on Wednesday, Aug. 5, also at 2:30. Both games can be streamed on FloCollege Basketball.

“The best part about these summer trips is that, with the transfer portal and so many moving parts, it’s really good to get these practices and competitive games under our belt,” UC head coach Jerrod Calhoun said earlier this summer. “We can’t wait to get down there.”

After Bahamas trip, UC Bearcats next exhibitions come in October

The next exhibition for Cincinnati Bearcats basketball will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 7, in the CareSource Invitational on a special court at the Lindner Tennis Center in Mason. The Bearcats are slated to play Ohio State at 3 p.m., followed by Xavier vs. Dayton at 5:30 p.m.. The backup arena plan in the event of inclement weather is UD Arena.

Tickets cover both games and are available via Ticketmaster.

Point guard Tylen Riley, who will not play in the Bahamas exhibitions with a hand injury, could be available by the time the fall exhibitions roll around in October.
