OLIVESBURG — The 2026 high school spring sports season has rounded April and is headed for May.
And that means it’s time to ramp up the postseason preparations.
Richland County athletes spent the last week doing just that. They are locked in at the plate and on the mound, polishing up their backhands and forehands and getting their steps down on the track.
Let’s take a look at the top performances in high school sports from last week.
Monday, April 20
-Crestview’s Maren Cunningham had two hits and an RBI during the Cougars’ 3-1 Firelands Conference softball win over New London. Bella Hillman had two RBIs, and Allison Volz took the win in the circle allowing one unearned run on six hits with seven strikeouts in a complete game masterpiece.
-Mansfield Christian’s Cassidi Nelson had two hits and three RBIs during the Flames’ 15-5 Mid-Buckeye Conference softball win over Crestline. Kaci Pollard had a hit and two RBIs while Bailee Nelson had two hits, an RBI and picked up the win in the circle allowing three runs on seven hits with nine strikeouts in four innings of work.
-Lucas’ Chelsea Sweet had two hits and four RBIs with a home run during the Cubs’ 26-7 Mid-Buckeye Conference softball win over Central Christian. Destiny Foss added three hits and three RBIs while Tori Conn had a hit and two RBIs in the victory.
-Plymouth’s Jarrett Burrer had two hits and an RBI and also picked up the win on the mound allowing one unearned run on two hits with five strikeouts in three innings of relief work during an 8-7 Firelands Conference baseball win over Mapleton. Isaiah Miller had two hits and three RBIs while Lincoln Distl added two hits and two RBIs in the win.
-Lexington’s Jackson Eichorn had two hits and three RBIs during the Minutemen’s 11-1 nonconference baseball win over Ontario. Ben Young added a hit and two RBIs and Tyler Galownia had an RBI and picked up the win on the mound allowing one unearned run on two hits with 12 strikeouts in a complete game masterpiece.
-Crestview’s Kayn Patton and Troy Weaver had a hit and two RBIs apiece during the Cougars’ 6-5 Firelands Conference baseball win over New London. Brayden Parrigan collected three hits while Drew Spoerr picked up the victory on the mound allowing seven runs, just three earned, on seven hits with 12 strikeouts in a complete game.
-Lucas’ Brady Anschutz smashed the go-ahead grand slam in the bottom of the sixth during the Cubs’ 7-5 Mid-Buckeye Conference baseball win over Central Christian. He had one hit and four RBIs for the day and also picked up the win on the mound allowing five runs, just two earned, on five hits with nine strikeouts in a complete game masterpiece. Xavier Hall had two hits and two RBIs in the win.
Tuesday, April 21
-Ontario’s Ellie Dawson had three hits and three RBIs with a home run during the Warriors’ 16-0 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference softball win over Marion Harding. Saylor Smith and Lillian Gray had two hits, three RBIs and a home run apiece and Morgan Pearson had two hits and two RBIs with a homer and picked up the win in the circle with a five-inning no-hitter. She struck out three and walked one in a dominant performance.
-Shelby’s Elise Mullins had two hits and four RBIs with a home run in the Whippets 14-3 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference softball win over Clear Fork. Kendall Bowman had two hits and three RBIs while Kelsey Young had one hit and three RBIs and Natalie Kennard had two hits, two RBIs and a home run in the victory. Jordyn Thauvette had two hits, an RBI and earned the win in the circle allowing three runs, one earned, on four hits with no strikeouts.
-Lexington’s Mariana Molton and Rylie McGuire had two hits and two RBIs apiece in Lady Lex’s 10-7 Ohio Cardinal Conference softball win over Madison. Molton picked up the win in the circle allowing seven runs, just four earned, on 10 hits with five strikeouts in seven innings of work.
-Crestview’s Mallory Ringler had four hits and four RBIs with a home run in the Cougars’ 15-5 Firelands Conference win over New London. Bella Hillman had three hits and five RBIs for a big day at the plate.
-Mansfield Christian’s Jael Sterken had three hits and four RBIs in the Flames’ 16-5 Mid-Buckeye Conference softball win over Crestline. Bailee Nelson had an RBI and picked up the win in the circle allowing five runs, three earned, on three hits with eight strikeouts in five innings of work.
-Lucas’ Grace Green had two hits and four RBIs in the Cubs’ 19-1 Mid-Buckeye Conference softball win over Central Christian. Mya Midkiff and Chelsea Sweet had one hit and two RBIs apiece while Arianna Ohm picked up the win in the circle allowing one unearned run on no hits with four strikeouts in three innings of work.
-Crestview’s Landon Fulk had three hits and three RBIs in the Cougars’ 10-0 Firelands Conference baseball win over New London. Kayn Patton had two hits and two RBIs and Colton Ernandes picked up the win on the mound allowing no runs on one hit with six strikeouts in five innings of work.
-Plymouth’s Jarrett Burrer had three hits and three RBIs with a home run in the Big Red’s 9-5 Firelands Conference baseball win over Mapleton. Lex Grose had a hit and two RBIs while Evan King had a hit and picked up the win on the mound allowing five runs, three earned, on six hits with five strikeouts in a complete game.
-Madison’s Landon Parsons had two hits and an RBI in the Rams’ 7-3 Ohio Cardinal Conference baseball win over Lexington. Liam Stone earned the win on the mound allowing no runs on two hits with three strikeouts in three innings of relief. Ashton Taylor worked a solid four innings allowing three runs, just one earned, on one hit with two strikeouts.
-Shelby’s Conner Hartz had two hits and four RBIs in the Whippets’ 8-7 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference win over Clear Fork. Nate Lykins added four hits while Brady Bowman had three hits and two RBIs.
Wednesday, April 22
-Lexington’s Mady Taylor delivered the go-ahead RBI single during Lady Lex’s Ohio Cardinal Conference softball win over Madison. She had one hit and one RBI while Addy Williams had a hit and two RBIs with a home run. Mariana Molton picked up the win in the circle allowing four runs, three earned, on eight hits with seven strikeouts.
-Shelby’s Elise Mullins had three hits and three RBIs with a home run while Braylee Sturts added a hit with three RBIs and a homer in the Whippets’ 8-3 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference softball win over Clear Fork. Jordyn Thauvette had two hits and an RBI and picked up the win in the circle allowing three runs on six hits with two strikeouts in a complete game victory.
-Ontario’s Morgan Pearson, Kylie Corwin and Lillian Gray had two hits and an RBI apiece in the Warriors’ 5-2 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference win over Marion Harding. Pearson earned the save in the circle allowing no runs on no hits with five strikeouts in two innings of relief.
-Madison’s Ashton Taylor delivered the game-winning RBI single to help the Rams complete a seventh-inning comeback in a 3-2 Ohio Cardinal Conference win over Lexington where they scored all three runs in the team’s final at-bats. Taylor finished with two hits and the team’s only RBI.
-Clear Fork’s Jacob Brokaw had three hits and two RBIs in the Colts’ 8-1 Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference win over Shelby. Blayne Craddolph earned the win on the mound allowing one run on three hits with five strikeouts in four innings of work. Bryar Ousley earned the three-inning save allowing no runs on three hits in three innings of work.
Friday, April 24
-The Lexington quartet of Olivia Thomas, Morgan Harrod, Mia Twedt and Allison Laury won the 4×400-meter relay at the Eastwood Relays with a time of 4:02.15.
-The Lexington quartet of Brailey Slone, Jenna Halfhill, Adria Sharrock and Evanlynn Adkins won the 4×800-meter relay at the Eastwood Relays with a time of 10:10.86.
-The Lexington quartet of Brailey Slone, Morgan Harrod, Mia Twedt and Gabbi Twedt won the girls distance medley relay at the Eastwood Relays with a time of 12:36.28.
-Lexington’s Dantrell Hughes won the 300-meter hurdles at the Eastwood Relays with a time of 40.41.
-The Lexington quartet of Cameron Glennon, Will Hooper, Dantrell Hughes and Latrell Hughes won the 4×400-meter relay at the Eastwood Relays with a time of 3:22.10.
-The Lexington quartet of Trevor Reed, Lincoln Rice, Drew Hooper and Will Hooper won the 4×800-meter relay at the Eastwood Relays with a time of 8:13.46.
-The Lexington quartet of Cameron Glennon, Cohen Lautzenhiser, Eben Cochran and Latrell Hughes won the 800-meter sprint medley relay at the Eastwood Relays with a time of 1:31.74.
-Lexington’s Cameron Glennon won the boys long jump competition at the Eastwood Relays with a leap of 21-02.00.
-Clear Fork’s Taylor Bly won the 200-meter dash at the 38th Forest Pruner Track Invitational at Crestview High School with a time of 25.68. She also won the 400-meter dash with a 57.61.
-Clear Fork’s Quinn Stover won the 800-meter run at the 38th Forest Pruner Track Invitational at Crestview High School with a time of 2:29.34.
-Clear Fork’s Katrina Neal won the 1,600-meter run at the 38th Forest Pruner Track Invitational at Crestview High School with a time of 5:09.45.
-Mansfield Christian’s Riley Patrick won the 3,200-meter run at the 38th Forest Pruner Track Invitational at Crestview High School with a time of 11:26.24.
-The Crestview quartet of Tori Kidney, Devon Hickey, Logan Moore and Bella Grant won the 4×100-meter relay at the 38th Forest Pruner Track Invitational at Crestview High School with a time of 51.63.
-The Clear Fork quartet of Katie Beck, Asia Bechtel, Eliana Pelkey and Taylor Richmond won the 4×200-meter relay at the 38th Forest Pruner Track Invitational at Crestview High School with a time of 1:48.15.
-Clear Fork’s Nash Evans won the 100-meter dash at the 38th Forest Pruner Track Invitational at Crestview High School with a time of 11.08.
-Plymouth’s Izaya Reynolds won the 400-meter dash at the 38th Forest Pruner Track Invitational at Crestview High School with a time of 51.59.
-The Clear Fork quartet of Nash Evans, Devyn Oswalt, Ethan Beck and Aiden Haring won the 4×200-meter relay at the 38th Forest Pruner Track Invitational at Crestview High School with a time of 1:32.03.
-Crestview’s Lane Robinson won the boys high jump competition at the 38th Forest Pruner Track Invitational at Crestview High School with a leap of 6-02.
-Clear Fork’s Nathan Wine won the boys shot put competition at the 38th Forest Pruner Track Invitational at Crestview High School with a toss of 54-feet.
-Shelby’s Brady Bowman won the 100-meter dash at the Triway High School Track and Field Invitational with a time of 11.38.
-Ontario’s Jace Young won the 800-meter run at the Triway High School Track and Field Invitational with a time of 1:58.83.
-Shelby’s Gavin Baker won the 110-meter hurdles at the Triway High School Track and Field Invitational with a time of 14.70.
-The Ontario quartet of Evan Streich, Jermel Powell, Elton Toska and Tre Fowler won the 4×100-meter relay at the Triway High School Track and Field Invitational with a time of 43.97.
-The Ontario quartet of Jace Young, Brady Rowe, Tre Fowler and Jermel Powell won the 4×200-meter relay at the Triway High School Track and Field Invitational with a time of 1:30.48.
-Shelby’s Brayden DeVito won the boys long jump competition at the Triway High School Track and Field Invitational with a leap of 20-11.
-Shelby’s Princess Timko won the 100-meter dash at the Triway High School Track and Field Invitational with a time of 12.19. She also won the 200-meter dash with a 25.58.
-Ontario’s Audrey Mahon won the 400-meter dash at the Triway High School Track and Field Invitational with a time of 1:00.20.
-The Shelby quartet of Princess Timko, Madison Henkel, Karlie Walp and Ashley Montgomery won the 4×100-meter relay at the Triway High School Track and Field Invitational with a time of 48.84.
-The Ontario quartet of Tessa Crum, Mia Moton, Sasha Bulakovski and Audrew Mahon won the 4×200-meter relay at the Triway High School Track and Field Invitational with a time of 1:45.24.
-Shelby’s Madison Henkel won the girls long jump competition at the Triway High School Track and Field Invitational with a leap of 18-06.
-Ontario’s Morgan Pearson had three hits and four RBIs in the Warriors’ massive 8-6 nonconference softball win over Hillsdale. She also worked the first five innings in the circle allowing four runs, just two earned, on five hits with nine strikeouts. Sophie Schuster earned the win allowing two runs on three hits with three strikeouts in two innings of relief work.
-Clear Fork’s Presley Lilly had three hits and three RBIs in the Colts’ 15-5 nonconference softball win over West Holmes. Millie Chamberlain had two hits and four RBIs with a home run while Jada Brokaw had two hits, two RBIs and a homer. Miley Shafer picked up the win in the circle allowing five runs, four earned, on four hits with three strikeouts in six innings of work.
-Madison’s Lexi Lewis had three hits with two RBIs in the Rams’ 6-2 nonconference softball win over Fredericktown. Caliyah Clapper had two hits and two RBIs and earned the win in the circle allowing two runs on five hits with 12 strikeouts in seven innings of work.
-Clear Fork’s Landen Perry had four hits and three RBIs in the Colts’ 15-3 nonconference baseball win over Madison. Mason Ball had three hits and three RBIs while Brevin Bias had two hits and three RBIs. Myles Sharp had two hits and two RBIs and picked up the win on the mound allowing three runs on three hits with three strikeouts in five innings of work.
-Lexington’s Graham Clark had three hits and two RBIs in the Minutemen’s 10-0 nonconference baseball win over River Valley. Tyler Galownia had a hit and took the win on the mound allowing no runs on one hit with four strikeouts in three innings of work.
-Ontario’s Guy Trader had two hits and earned the win on the mound allowing four runs on 11 hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings of work during the Warrior’s 6-4 nonconference baseball win over Hillsdale.
-Crestview’s Kaden Stutz had two hits and two RBIs in the Cougars’ 7-5 Firelands Conference baseball win over Mapleton. Brayden Parrigan had three hits and an RBI while Colton Ernandes earned the win on the mound allowing no runs on two hits with four strikeouts in four innings of relief work.
-Lucas’ Anthony Fanello had a hit and three RBIs in the Cubs’ 11-1 nonconference baseball win over Mansfield Senior. Jack DiBartolomeo had a hit and earned the win on the mound allowing one run on three hits with 10 strikeouts in five innings of work.
Saturday, April 25
-Lexington’s Tony Palmer and Cooper Remy won the doubles championship at the prestigious Lexington Boys Tennis Invitational.
-Shelby’s Kendall Bowman and Braylee Sturts had one hit and four RBIs apiece in the Whippets’ 14-1 nonconference softball win over Bellevue. Natalie Kennard added three hits and an RBI while Elise Mullins had a hit and two RBIs. Bowman and Mullins each clubbed one home run apiece in the victory. Jadyn Bowman earned the win in the circle allowing one unearned run on three hits with five strikeouts in five innings of work.
-Clear Fork’s Jada Brokaw and Kylie Ludwig had three hits and two RBIs apiece in the Colt’s 15-5 nonconference softball win over West Holmes. Presley Lilly added two hits and two RBIs in the victory.
-Ontario’s Max Ciroli had four hits and four RBIs in the Warriors’ 10-4 nonconference baseball win over Clyde. Kasen Pittman added a hit and two RBIs in the victory.
