Like his work with Talking Heads, Byrne’s solo endeavors are an eclectic blend of musical styles, with a diverse list of collaborators. “Who is the Sky?” features such guests as Paramore’s Hayley Williams, St. Vincent and The Smile drummer Tom Skinner.

The upcoming release will be the 11th studio album for Byrne, who also has 12 soundtrack albums and five live albums to his name.

A writer, visual artist and filmmaker in addition to a musician, Byrne won the 1987 Academy Award for Best Original Score for “The Last Emperor,” and a special Tony Award for “David Byrne’s American Utopia” in 2021.

He is a 2002 inductee to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Talking Heads.
