Fourth of July celebrations may be over, but the city is still booming with tons of things to do.

Spend time with hundreds of creators and authors in feature panel discussions, meet-and-greets and book signings in a two-day book festival at the Columbus Metropolitan Library.

Worthington Chamber Orchestra puts on second performance

The Worthington Chamber Orchestra will present the second of three performances in its Summer Music in Nature Concert Series at 7 p.m. July 11.

The guests of the Grange Insurance Audubon Center, 505 W. Whittier St., will play nature-inspired music by American composers.

Hilliard Arts Council presents annual summer musical

An enchanting story of two American tourists who stumble upon a mysterious Scottish village that appears for only one day every hundred years will be presented at Hilliard Darby High School by the Hilliard Arts Council.

“Brigadoon,” the musical by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe, explores themes of timeless romance, sacrifice and the magic of believing in the impossible.

Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. on July 11 and 12, along with 3 p.m. on July 13 at 4200 Leppert Road.

Broken Habits headlines first show in Columbus

High-energy rock and passionate music meant to encourage people to live without substances is bringing a special kind of positivity to The Summit Music Hall, 2210 Summit St.

Broken Habits will perform at 8 p.m. on July 12 with additional performances from This Day Forever and Cream Camino. Doors will open at 7 p.m.

Columbus Book Festival brings nationally acclaimed authors

Columbus Metropolitan Library will be the spot for a free two-day festival at the main library, 96 S. Grant Ave., and Topiary Park.

The festival will feature more than 120 national and local authors from a variety of genres who will participate in panel discussions and sign books sold through the official festival bookstore. The Book Loft, Cover to Cover, Gramercy Books and Prologue Bookshop will manage the book sales.

In Topiary Park, more than 100 independent creators, small-press writers and self-published authors will exhibit under the Indie Author Alley tent. Visitors will also find new and used books for sale, retail and nonprofit exhibitors featuring all things literary and food and drinks.

New this year are alcohol sales, including beer and seltzer and an expanded food court. The festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 12 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 13. Visit columbusbookfestival.org to learn more.

Ice-T to perform at The KING of CLUBS

Whether you know him as the legendary rapper of “Colors” or “6 in the Mornin’,” or as Odafin Tutuola in “Law & Order: SVU,” the ’90s phenomenon will bring his hits to Columbus.

Ice-T will perform at The KING of CLUBS, 6252 Busch Blvd., with Schoolly D and DJ Evil E at 6:30 p.m. on July 12.

It’s All Been Done Radio Hour to have 10th anniversary

Reflecting on where it all began, Shane Stefanchik and Joe Morales will perform in It’s All Been Done Radio Hour’s 10th anniversary.

The live podcast recording will take place July 12 at Boxland Media, 6155 Huntley Road.

Dude Perfect to perform at Schottenstein Center

Popular sports and comedy group made up of Tyler “The Beard” Toney, Cory and Coby Cotton (The Twins), Garrett “The Purple Hoser” Hilbert and Cody “The Tall Guy” Jones will bring their famous trick shots to Columbus.

Dude Perfect will bring their new “Hero” world tour to the Schottenstein Center, 555 Borror Drive, on July 13.

The Ophelias to open for Ezra Furman

The Ophelias are returning to their home state to open for Ezra Furman at 8 p.m. July 14 at Ace of Cups, 2619 N. High St. Doors open at 7 p.m.

The Cincinnati-based band recently released “Spring Grove,” which has received glowing praise from The New York Times, NPR Music, The Washington Post and The Boston Globe. The band calls it their “most impactful and intimate album to date.”

Wind down at another Wine Down Wednesday

The Lincoln Theatre hosts its fourth summer season of Wine Down Wednesdays, featuring hot jazz and cool cocktails on the Lincoln’s Michael B. Coleman rooftop patio.

The outdoor concert series includes hors d’oeuvres and a specially curated wine selection or specialty cocktail. Doors open at 5 pm. and performances begin at 6:45 p.m. and include the Dave Shelton Trio on July 16.

In the event of inclement weather, performances will be moved indoors to the Lincoln lobby. General-admission tickets are $39.72 and can be purchased in person at the CAPA Ticket Center, 39 E. State St., by phone at 614-469-0939 and online at capa.com.

‘The Motivated Speaker’ authors to share the secrets to public speaking

Ruth Milligan, Acacia Duncan and Blythe Coons, authors of “The Motivated Speaker,” will share key strategies of the world’s best public speakers.

“The Motivated Speaker: Six Principles to Unlock Your Communication Potential” was written by the three Columbus-based executive communication coaches. Milligan is also founder of TEDxColumbus.

The authors will speak at 7 p.m. on July 16 at the Bexley Public Library, 2411 E. Main St. Registration is free on bexleylibrary.org/event/13710403.
