Classic rocker John Waite will bring his catalog of hit songs to Massillon for a spring concert presented by radio station Sunny 101.7.
Waite’s career spans decades, both as a member of the bands The Babys and Bad English and as a successful solo artist. Popular solo songs include “Missing You” and “Change.”
The concert will be at 7 p.m. April 25.
Waite’s songs with The Babys include “Isn’t It Time,” “Every Time I Think of You” and “Back on My Feet Again.” He was lead vocalist of the British rock band, which formed in 1975 before disbanding in the early ’80s. He later fronted the melodic rock band Bad English, which scored the 1989 hit, “When I See You Smile.”

Canton-based Sunny 101.7 is presenting Waite as the headliner of its Spring Break Concert at Lions Lincoln Theatre.
The radio station plays hit songs from the ’70s and ’80s.
“John Waite is a perfect fit for the Lions Lincoln Theatre and Stark County,” Scott Davidson of Sunny 101.7 said in a prepared statement. “This show brings a legendary artist to a beautiful venue for an unforgettable night of unforgettable hits.”
Davidson hosts a radio show 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. Sunny 101.7 also broadcasts and streams the Murphy, Sam & Jodi morning show, which is heard on 87 stations across the United States and overseas.
“This special performance offers fans a rare opportunity to experience Waite’s legendary catalogin the intimate, historic setting of the Lions Lincoln Theatre, where his powerful vocals andtimeless songwriting can be fully appreciated in a comfortable, fully seated environment,” the radio station said.
Waite’s Massillon concert is part of a tour, which includes shows in Illinois, Wisconsin, Idaho, Arizona, Texas, Indiana and California.
