The Summit County Zero Suicide Project will receive a five-year federal funding grant of $400,000 from the Center for Mental Health Services.
The grant will support suicide prevention and its impact on the community, according to a news release from the office of U.S. Rep. Emilia Sykes.
The funding will also implement the Zero Suicide Framework, which strengthens suicide prevention efforts, the release said. It helps with identification, treatment and ongoing support for individuals at risk of suicide.
“We are humbled to receive this funding and grateful for the opportunity to further strengthen the care we provide to individuals who need it most,” Keith Hochadel, chief executive officer of Community Health Center, said in a statement.
The Community Health Center facilitates the Summit County Zero Suicide Project.
“This investment will allow us to expand evidence-based suicide prevention services, enhance staff training and ensure more people in our community receive compassionate, timely care during moments when it matters most,” Hochadel said in the release.
