Stark County NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner is Oct. 17

NORTH CANTON − Eosa Osa, founding CEO of Onyx Impact, will be the keynote speaker at the Stark County branch of the NAACP’s annual Freedom Fund Dinner on Oct. 17 at the Arrowhead Golf Club & Banquet Center at 1500 Rogwin Circle SW.

Onyx Impact is a nonprofit research, media, and technology organization dedicated to amplifying Black voices and protecting Black communities in an era of propaganda. The organization invests in independent Black media, and works to empower Black communities. 

A native of Dayton, Osa is a graduate of Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy. Prior to launching Onyx, she worked as a portfolio manager at Black Rock and Morgan Stanley, and as deputy executive director of Fair Fight Action, where she led national efforts around voting policy reform and combatting information influence campaigns, managed research, political, organizing and communications teams, and developed strategies to protect democracy and empower marginalized communities.

She also served as the senior adviser to Stacey Abrams’ gubernatorial campaign in Georgia, and as a campaign manager and chief of staff for a 2018 congressional candidate.

Dress for the dinner is black tie. Details about tickets will be announced at a later date.
