Charlie Brown along with Snoopy and the gang will not be packing their bags at Cedar Point and Kings Island after this season.

The licensing agreement with the former Cedar Fair for the cartoon characters to appear in the legacy parks like Cedar Point was set to expire this year.
Some feared this meant the relatively newly formed company created through the merger with Six Flags would mean the introduction of DC superheroes and Looney Tunes themed attractions and characters in the Ohio parks.
Six Flags Entertainment Corp. announced Sept. 10 that it will extend its licensing agreement with Peanuts Worldwide for another five years.
Peanuts characters will continue to appear at Knott’s Berry Farm, Carowinds, Cedar Point, Kings Island, Kings Dominion, Dorney Park, Canada’s Wonderland, Great America, Michigan Adventure, Valley Fair, and Worlds of Fun.
“We are proud to extend our long-standing partnership with Peanuts, which has delivered so many fun and cherished memories to our guests,” Christian Dieckmann, Six Flags chief commercial officer, said in a statement. “Both of our brands are built on bringing families together and creating one-of-a-kind experiences and emotional connections. The renewed relationship between Six Flags and Peanuts Worldwide will enable both companies to enhance and extend their brands through themed areas, live entertainment, merchandise and games.”
The partnership between the parks and Peanuts dates back to the 1980s at Knott’s Berry Farm and expanded to other Cedar Fair parks including Cedar Point where they replaced the Berenstain Bears.
“It’s been exciting to see how the legacy Cedar Fair parks have introduced our beloved Peanuts characters to new generations of kids over the years, and this renewed partnership with Six Flags will ensure we expand those connections in authentic and meaningful ways,” Tim Erickson, executive vice president for Peanuts Worldwide, said in a statement.
A year ago, Kings Island added Peanuts related rides including Snoopy’s Soapbox Racers and the Beagle Scout Acres play area for kids.
