Ice cream social

Wildermuth Memorial Church invites community members to a special Ice Cream Cone Social on July 25, as they celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary with an evening of fellowship, great music, and patriotic fun.

The festivities begin at 6 p.m. at Wildermuth Memorial Church, 3405 Carroll Eastern Road, Carroll, where guests can enjoy delicious ice cream, hot dogs, and connect with friends and neighbors, as we celebrate our nation’s heritage in a family-friendly atmosphere.

At 7:00 p.m., the evening continues with a live concert by the popular Won Peace Bluegrass Group. Their uplifting blend of bluegrass and gospel music promises an enjoyable performance for all ages. Since all activities are outside, guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair for the concert.

Theater production

Wagnalls Community Theater presents the play “Cruising For Murder” at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8, in Lithopolis.

After days drifting across open water aboard the elegant Showstopper, guests are invited to an evening unlike any other—a lavish celebration filled with music, cocktails, laughter… and dangerous secrets lurking just beneath the surface.

Behind polished smiles and sparkling gowns, tensions are rising among the passengers and crew. Ambition, jealousy, romance, and betrayal have all found their way aboard, and before the first night is over, someone may be pushed too far.

As whispers spread through the ship’s grand halls, alliances begin to crack and hidden truths threaten to surface. Every guest has a story. Every story hides a motive.

When disaster strikes in the middle of the festivities, the question becomes terrifyingly simple: Who among you can be trusted?

This event is for Ages 21+. Passengers can begin arriving through the main library doors (off the parking lot) at 6:30 p.m. for check-in. Attendees should bring their ID/Drivers License for Check-In. Doors to the Captain’s Cocktail Reception on the A Deck will open at 6:45 pm. A welcome and a toast by the captain will begin promptly at 7:00 pm.

Tickets and more information can be obtained at www.wagnalls.org.

New traffic pattern

Officials from the City of Canal Winchester remind the motoring public that the new stop sign has been erected at the Columbus Street/High Street intersection. Motorists are reminded to make a complete stop at all four corners. Officials are hoping the new stop sign will enhance pedestrian safety.
