Reynoldsburg man faces kidnapping, domestic violence charges

LANCASTER − A 23-year-old Reynoldsburg man is facing kidnapping and other charges in Fairfield County Common Pleas Court sparked from July 15, 2022, and Aug. 23, 2023 incidents.

Genesis Boakye is charged with two first-degree felony counts of kidnapping, two third-degree counts of abduction, one fourth-degree felony count of failure to appear as required by recognizance and two first-degree misdemeanor counts of domestic violence.

The failure to appear charge stems from April 13, 2023.

According to court records, Boakye is accused of preventing a female from leaving a residence at 3146 Arborsye Court in Reynoldsburg in the 2022 incident.

A Columbus Police Department report also said Boakye punched and choked the victim.

A small portion of Reynoldsburg is in Fairfield County.
