Ohio Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has called the University of Akron, Kent State University and Cleveland State University “subpar” institutions. As a graduate of an elite Ivy League university on the East Coast, apparently he feels he’s allowed to disparage our cherished public institutions.
Do you really want this out-of-touch, elitist billionaire to be our next governor?
I am a proud University of Akron graduate. Its affordability and accessibility allowed me to put myself through school, even though I still had to work up to three jobs and live at home to save money. Ramaswamy does not want generations of Ohioans to have that chance and be able to attend a more affordable university.
He wants only the few Ohioans who are fortunate to afford the exorbitantly expensive Harvards and Yales to have a chance to improve their lives. He is out of touch with those of us who actually live here, raised our families, and love our state.
As a proud graduate of one of the subpar Ohio universities, I ask you to help me defeat this out-of-touch billionaire.
