Licking County authorities arrested two people and are searching for two more in connection with a June 6 shooting in Newark.
Police arrested two people at State Route 79 and Enterprise Drive, north of Hebron, Licking County Sheriff Randy Thorp said in a news release posted about 3 p.m. on Facebook.
As of about 2:40 p.m., Newark and Heath officers were still investigating at the scene after responding to a report of an active shooter near Route 79, which runs between the two cities, police dispatchers confirmed to The Advocate.
Route 79 remained closed in both directions as of 3 p.m., Thorp said, encouraging drivers to avoid the area.
This is a breaking story and will be updated.
